Pre-requisites:

● Warranty period  days (Item Master)

● Has Serial No  (Item Master)

● Delivery Note With Respect to Serial no

Create a Warranty Claim in ERPNext: Step by Step Process

 Navigate to the warranty claim List, Click on the “new” button.

 Enter the serial number of the product, based on which the item customer name and warranty expiry date, etc. will be auto-fetched.

 Describe the” issue” of the Product, upload the image.

 Enter the issue date.

 Set the Status of the warranty.

  • Open
  • Closed
  • Work in progress
  • Cancelled

Create a Warranty Claim in ERPNext: Step by Step Process

 Warranty / AMC Status will be auto-fetched if the product warranty issue date is between the Warranty Expiry date or the AMC Expiry Date.

  • Under warranty
  • Out of Warranty
  • Under AMC
  • Out of AMC


 Enter The Warranty Resolution Details.

  • Resolution Date
  • Resolved by
  • Resolution Details 


 Customer Details will be autocapured in the “Details” like customer name, Customer address, service Address, etc.


 Create Maintenance Visit

  • Set the customer name,  Maintenance Date, maintenance Time, Maintenance type 
  • Maintenance status - Partially Completed or Fully Completed


 Assign the Maintenance to the Sales team, where the user can update the issue  & work done Status.
