Product Catch Weight (Inventory)

The Product Catch Weight (Inventory) module helps manage Catch Weight units of measure across Sales, Purchase, Inventory, and Invoicing, with all operations calculated based on an additional Catch Weight unit of measure.

To set up Catch Weight for a product in Odoo, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Sales > Products > Products and select any product.
2. Enable "Is Catch Weight" to activate this feature for the product. If not enabled, Catch Weight will not apply for this product.
3. If for sale, enable Sale Catch Weight Measure; if for purchase, enable Purchase Catch Weight Measure and specify the Catch Weight Unit of Measure.

To update Catch Weight via Physical Inventory in Odoo, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Inventory > Operations > Physical Inventory.
2. Add a new physical inventory for the product, or if it already exists, edit the Catch Weight for the product and save.

To create a purchase order using Catch Weight in Odoo, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Purchase, create a new record and add product, and a vendor.
2. Add the product to the purchase order.
3. If Purchase Catch Weight Measure is enabled, the purchase amount is calculated as Catch Weight x Unit Price. If disabled, it is calculated as Quantity x Unit Price.
4. Confirm the purchase order using the Confirm Order button in the header.

To view the receipts for your purchase order, follow these steps:

1. Click the Receipt smart button on the purchase order to view all related receipts.

To print a customized picking operation or delivery slip with Catch Weight details:

1. Click the Gear button on the picking or delivery form.
2. Select the Print option to get a customized printout including Catch Weight information.

To print customized slips with Catch Weight details:

1. Click the Gear button on the picking or delivery form.
2. Select the Print option.
3. You can print both Picking Operations and Delivery Slip with Catch Weight information.

To validate the receipt and view the validated order:

1. Click the Validate button in the header of the receipt form to validate it.
2. After validation, the order status will be updated and the validated order can be viewed as shown below.

To check the sale order calculation when Purchase Catch Weight is enabled and Sale Catch Weight is disabled:

1. Navigate to Sales > New to create a new sale order.
2. Select the product with Catch Weight configured.
3. Since Sale Catch Weight is disabled, the amount is calculated as Quantity x Unit Price.

To enable Sale Catch Weight for a product:

1. Open the product form.
2. Disable Purchase Catch Weight Measure and enable Sale Catch Weight Measure.
3. Save the product to apply the changes.

When Sale Catch Weight Measure is enabled:

1. Create a new sale order and select the product with Sale Catch Weight enabled.
2. The amount in the sale order is calculated as Catch Weight x Unit Price.
3. Confirm the sale order using the Confirm Order button.

To view related deliveries for the sale order:

1. Click the Delivery smart button on the sale order to see all related delivery records.

To print the delivery or picking slip with Catch Weight details for the sale order:

1. Click the Gear button on the delivery or picking form.
2. Select the Print option to generate a customized slip with Catch Weight information, similar to the purchase process.

To validate the delivery and view the updated status:

1. Click the Validate button on the delivery form.
2. After validation, you can view the validated delivery as shown below.

To return products after validating the delivery:

1. Click the Return button in the header of the delivery.
2. A popup will appear showing the product quantity and catch weight.
3. You can choose to return the products as per your requirement or return all.

To create and confirm the invoice for the sale order:

1. Click Create Invoice from the header (17_img).
2. Create the invoice as Draft (18_img).
3. Confirm the invoice using the Confirm button (19_img).

To print the invoice PDF:

1. Click the Gear button on the invoice form.
2. Select Print and choose Invoice PDF.
3. Generated PDF can be viewed/printed as shown below image.

When Sale Catch Weight is enabled and Purchase Catch Weight is disabled:

1. Open the purchase order for the product.
2. The purchase order amount is calculated as Quantity x Unit Price.
