Product Availability

Product Availability Module is used to check whether a product is available in stock within Odoo.

Product Configuration
  1. Navigate to the Website Go to Ecommerce and Open Products.
  2. In Sales tab, enable Check Stock Availability for Warehouse and select the Check Availability.

When Check Availability is set to Always Available, the product will appear as in stock on the website shop page.

When Check Availability is set to Always not Available, the product will appear as Out of Stock on the website shop page.

When Check Availability is set to Based on Inventory, The system will automatically detect the country-specific warehouse location using GeoIP.
Based on the identified warehouse location, the product details page will display the appropriate status label: In Stock or Out of Stock.

Enable Inventory Tracking, and ensure that when the On Hand Quantity is greater than 0, the product is displayed as In Stock on the website shop page.

When the On Hand Quantity is zero or negative, the product is displayed as Out of Stock on the website shop page.

GeoIP Configuration

To set up the GeoIP, follow these steps:

  1. First, download the GeoLite2 City database from MaxMind. You will need to sign up or log in to your MaxMind account. After logging in, navigate to the Download Database section and download the required file.
  2. Next, upload the extracted .mmdb file to your server. Move the file to the /usr/share/GeoIP/ directory using the following command: mv /home/ubuntu/GeoLite2-City.mmdb /usr/share/GeoIP/
  3. Open the Odoo configuration file using the following command: sudo nano /etc/odoo12-server.conf.
  4. Then, add the following line to the configuration file: geoip_database = /usr/share/GeoIP/GeoLite2-City.mmdb
