Disable Chat Kanak
The Disable Chat Kanak module allows administrators to control direct messaging between users in Odoo. It helps maintain focused communication by limiting chats to groups or specific channels. This ensures a distraction-free environment and improves productivity across the organization.
Steps to configure user chat permissions:
- Go to Settings > Users & Companies > Users.
- Open the user record for the account currently logged in.
- Under Admin Extra Rights, enable the option Enable User to Chat.
- Save the changes.
After enabling chat permissions, open the Sales module.
You will notice the Chat option available on the top-left corner of the screen for the admin user.
Now, switch to another user account and log in.
You will notice that the Chat option is no longer visible on the top-left corner near the profile, ensuring restricted access for non-admin users.
Open the Discuss app as the restricted user.
You will notice that the Chatter option on the left side has no available channels, confirming that chat access is disabled for this user.
